Acts of The Holy Spirit

Be Filled | Be Empowered | Be Witnesses | Be The Church!!!

Over the last 20 years, our country as well as the world has seen an increase in social justice movements.  From Occupy Wall-Street to #MeToo to Black Lives Matter, people have loudly expressed their dissatisfaction with the status quo.  And this activism is not limited to the world, it has made its way into the church as well.  But what if we could offer the church and the world the blueprint for a Spirit-Filled, Spirit-Empowered movement?  We have that in the Book of Acts.

Additional Messages

Wait On The Promise (Acts 1:1-11)

The rejuvenated disciples are ready to overthrow the Roman government and supplant themselves as the reigning superpower. But Jesus has other plans.  So, He tells them to wait for what the Father had promised. (Acts 1:4) He will supply you with the power to be My witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the remotest parts of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

The Wait Is Over (Acts 2:1-14)

Prior to His ascension, Jesus tells His Apostles to "wait for what the Father had promised". (Acts 1:4)  The wait is over. On the Day of Pentecost, a loud noise filled the house, tongues of fire rested on the occupants, and they were all filled with the Spirit and began to speak in tongues.  (Acts 2:2-4) But what does all of that mean? Tune in as we discuss the events of Pentecost.

Repent (Acts 2:12-41)

Amazed that the 120 are speaking in their native tongues, some in the crowd accuse them of being intoxicated. Peter replies that they are not filled wine but the Spirit. (Acts 2:12) Then he proceeds to utilize a series of OT passages to explain that the Sender of the Holy Spirit was Jesus the Nazarene whom they crucified. Feeling guilty, the crowd asks what must we do to be saved.

Filled! Saved! Now What?

Acts 2:42-47

On the Day of Pentecost, 3000 souls were baptized. Can you imagine the energy and excitement that must have reverberated throughout their camp? But now what? For it is one thing to reach the mountaintop, it is something totally different to continue to serve the Lord in Spirit & Truth from the mountaintop. So how do the apostles and the newly saved 3000 handle it?

Use What You Have (Acts 3:1-26)

Tennis great, Arthur Ashe, once said "start where you are, use what you have, do what you can". That philosophy personifies the interaction between Peter and the lame man at the gate called Beautiful. While Peter does not have the requested silver and gold, he does give the lame man what he has. And what Peter has is actually what the lame man needs.

God's Plans Over My Plans

(Gen 4:13-31)

There are times when God's plans interfere with our plans. But we must remember that His plans always supersede our plans.

Sacrificial Generosity (Acts 4:32-5:16)

It has been repeatedly said that chemistry is vital to the success of a team. Yes, you can have a collection of super-talented athletes, healthcare workers, and spirit-filled, spirit-empowered church members, but if they are not united together as a team, their success will be limited and their quest for success will be filled with bickering and betrayal.  Luke teaches us that despite the efforts of Satan, the church remained united.

You Can't Stop This (Acts 5:12-42)

In spite of being falsely arrested, beaten, imprisoned and threatened, Peter and the other apostles reply "We Must Obey God Rather Than Man". (Acts 5:29) And then later they rejoice for being counted worthy of suffering in the name of Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:41)

Growing Pains (Acts 6:1-7)

Like the teenager with sore knees from a growth spurt; spiritual, business, and relational growth will stretch us. So how do we handle the growing pains?

Will You Go (Acts 8:1-40)

There is an Ethiopian Eunuch out there who has questions about Jesus that the Lord wants YOU to talk to. Will you go?

Conversion (Acts 9:1-31)

Saul, the persecutor of the early church, was Snatched, Pricked and Consecrated. These life-changing events motivated him to GO!!!

4 Keys To Removing Roadblocks (Acts 10)

In Acts 1:8, Jesus provides us with a roadmap for the spread of the gospel.  Are you being a roadblock?

What's Going On In Antioch (Acts 11:19-30)

As the church fled from persecution, it made its way up the Mediterranean coast to a bustling seaport named Antioch. And as they continued to share the good news about a resurrected Jesus from Nazareth, an evangelistic explosion takes place. Why? What was so special about Antioch?

Dealing With The Why?  (Acts 12:1-19)

After reading Acts 12 where God delivered Peter from prison but allowed James to be executed, one may wrestle with the question - Why does God heal some but not others? Why does He answer some prayers and not others? Let's talk about it.

Don't Give Up?  (Acts 14)

After reading Acts 12 where God delivered Peter from prison but allowed James to be executed, one may wrestle with the question - Why does God heal some but not others? Why does He answer some prayers and not others? Let's talk about it.

There Is A Macedonia Waiting For You.  (Acts 15)

What do we do when the Holy Spirit closes doors?

Run On! (Acts 16:14-40)

Although it may not look like what you expect, God wants to do great and mighty things with you on the other side of your Macedonian door.

Resillient Faith! (Acts 17:1-15)

As Paul walks through his Macedonian door, he is faced with jealous haters. But he does not allow them to stop him. He demonstrates resilient faith.

U Need A Real God (Acts 17:16-34)

Are you worshipping an idol or The Real God?

What Has You Bound? (Acts 20:17-38)

What has you bound? Money, power, or fame? Fear of failure. Fear of success. Fear of death. For Paul, it was....

Receive & WALK In It.  (Acts 21 & 22)

There is a difference between receiving and walking in a prophetic Word from the Lord.

Walking Requires Courage  (Acts 23 & 24)

In order to walk in the prophetic word that has been spoken over our lives, we must be courageous in Him.

A Crazy But Powerful Testimony (Acts 25 & 26)

Paul had a powerful testimony that he used to not only defend himself against the haters but also reach leaders in high places.

Faith In His Faithfulness (Acts 27)

When the storms of life begin to rage in your life, where do you put your anchor? We encourage you to have FAITH in HIS FAITHFULNESS.

Finding Opportunities In Our Chains (Acts 28)

Our assignment for the Lord will not always be ideal. Like Paul, there will be times in which we will find ourselves in less-than-ideal situations dealing with less-than-ideal people. But we gotta learn to look for the opportunities in those less-than-ideal situations.
